Arriving in Istanbul

Most air travellers arriving in Istanbul will land at Ataturk Airport, from where you can travel into the city by rental car, taxi or bus. Journey time is around 30 minutes. Travelling directly from Ataturk to Istanbul Park by road takes around one hour and special buses are available on race days.

Sabiha Gokcen International Airport is smaller and located further outside Istanbul, but is just four kilometres from Istanbul Park. Taxis and public transport can take you from Sabiha Gokcen to various destinations in and around Istanbul. On race days, special buses run from nearby Pendik to Istanbul Park.

From Istanbul to Istanbul Park

Istanbul Park Circuit is located in Istanbul’s Akfyrat County on the Asian side of the city, 55 km east of the centre, Taksim. The nearest main suburb is Pendik and the circuit is accessible via the TEM (E-80) and E5 (D-100) Highways and the Sile Road.

TEM (E-80):
Take the Sekerpinar-Bayramoglu exit at the 25th kilometre, or the Sabiha Gokcen Airport exit at the 22nd kilometre, and follow signs for Istanbul Park.

E-5 (D-100):
Follow the Istanbul Park signs from the Sabiha Gokcen Airport and Sekerpinar-Bayramoglu junctions.

Sile Road:
Join the Sile Road from either TEM (E-80) or E-5 (D-100) and then take the Istanbul Park exit at the 16th kilometre.

If you do not have access to a car, municipal buses are available on race days from various points in and around Istanbul, including Ataturk Airport, Taksim Square, Mecidiyekoy, Kadykoy, Bostancy and Pendik.

It is also possible to get to Pendik (15 kilometres from Istanbul Park) by sea bus from Bakyrkoy, Karakoy, Eminonu and Kabataþ, all of which are very close to the popular hotel areas of Sultanahmet and Taksim.
